All students are expected to eat lunch at school. Many students find it more convenient to bring a sandwich and to buy milk. Federal guidelines do not allow any student to bring food from fast food restaurants to lunch. Federal guidelines also prohibits students from brining carbonated sodas to lunch. Meals are to be eaten in the cafeteria. Food may not be taken from the cafeteria. After eating, students are expected to place all refuse in the receptacles and leave the tables clean for the next class. Teachers will assign students cafeteria duty.

Purchasing Lunch

1. Lunch prices are in three categories: full price, reduced price, and free. The determination as to how much a student pays is based on the number of people in the family and the total income.

2. Free/reduced lunch application forms will be sent home the first day of school. Applications should be returned the following day.

3. A lunch application is needed from each child regardless of the number of children in the family. Parents should be certain to place the student’s homeroom teacher by each child’s name. If the student is to be placed on the lunch program, all information requested on the form must be completed and returned to his/her homeroom teacher.

4. There is no provision for the cafeteria manager to charge meals.
